Mission Statement
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Academic Advising Center is committed to provide all students developmental academic advising grounded in teaching and based on valuing a liberal arts education. Through this process, students develop the skills and self-knowledge to be adaptable, accountable and reflective life long learners. This results in the ability to set personal goals and to make intelligent educational, career, and life choices to achieve those goals.

Walk-Ins
Students are always welcome to visit the AAC during our office hours. During the first week of the semester all appointments will be on a walk in basis. However, because some advising concerns can’t be dealt with on a walk-in basis, we may ask you to schedule an appointment to return at another time. Thursday of each week is our day for ‘walk in visits only’ and we prefer not to make appointments on that day. We hope you understand that we are trying to serve as many students as possible with limited staff and resources.
Appointments
We schedule 30- and 60-minute appointments starting the second week of the semester. Some advising issues will take more than one appointment to resolve. If you need to change or cancel a scheduled appointment, please contact your AAC adviser at least 24 hours in advance.
A Final Word
Our office is closed on university holidays. In addition, there are times, (such as during breaks) when the office may be closed for short periods of time due to staffing limitations. We appreciate your understanding and ask that you call ahead before you visit during these times. If we were not here when you came to visit, please call or e-mail our office to arrange another time to come see us. Thank you.
