UW-L Places Third at WIAC Relays

Eau Claire, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team placed third at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Relays Saturday afternoon at UW-Eau Claire. The Eagles finished with 102 team points while UW-Stevens Point was first with 152. UW-Eau Claire finished second (120).

UW-Whitewater finished fourth (90 points) while UW-Oshkosh was fifth (64) and UW-River Falls sixth (34).

The Eagles had five relays place second Saturday. The 200 and 400 medley relays each finished second. In the 200 medley, Casey Borden, Matthew Diehl, Peter Szotkowski and Spencer Loch went 1:40.27 while Borden, Diehl, Kurt Zehel and Loch went 3:42.08 in the 400 medley relay.

In the 200 freestyle relay, Diehl, Ben Knutson, Simon Weisse and Loch were second (1:27.06) while Diehl, Borden, Weisse and Loch finished second in the 400 freestyle relay (3:18.37).

UW-L's 300 butterfly relay also placed second (2:51.65).
