UW-L Records Win at UW-Oshkosh

Oshkosh, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team earned an 188-54 dual victory at UW-Oshkosh Friday night in Albee Hall.
The Eagles took both relays Friday as Benjamin Knutson, Chad Martin, Nathanial Hoffman and Simon Weisse won the 400 medley relay (3:49.38) and Spencer Loch, Grayson Hoffmann, Casey Borden and Eric Schleicher the 400 freestyle relay (3:24.95).
UW-L took the top-three places in eight individual events. Loch won two individual events Friday as he took the 50 freestyle (22.14) and 100 butterfly (56.51). Knutson was second (22.68) and Boren third (23.40) in the 50 freestyle while Hoffman placed second (57.30) and Kurt Zehel third (59.37) in the 100 butterfly.
In the 1,000 freestyle, Justin Dembski was first (10:14.13) followed by Zehel (10:48.20) and Colin Schmidt (10:48.69). Jared Krueger took first in the 200 freestyle (1:54.05) while Hoffmann was second (1:56.41) and Daniel McConnell third (1:59.81).
Weisse won the 200 I.M. (2:10.45) for UW-L with Bill Shuster second (2:10.67) and Martin third (2:12.68). Martin also won an individual title, taking the 100 breaststroke (1:06.15) with Peter Szotkowski second (1:07.91). Szotkowski was third in the 100 freestyle (52.83) while Borden won the event (50.48) and Schmidt placed second (51.26).
Joel Knuesel won the 100 backstroke (59.12) with Knutson second (59.65) and Schleicher third (1:03.42). Shuster took the 500 freestyle (5:17.01) while McConnell was second (5:31.83) and Corey Mukai third (5;38.70).
In diving, UW-L's Casey Chamberlain placed third in the 1-meter competition (202.05 points) and Trey Edgerle finished third in the 3-meter (195.60).
