Peterson and Vincent Earn Academic All-District Honors

La Crosse, Wis. – University of Wisconsin-La Crosse senior Brad Peterson of Hartland (Arrowhead) and junior Dallas Vincent of Oakfield (Mayville) have been named to the 2009 CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V College Division Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team. Both student-athletes are now eligible for the Academic All-America Team which will be announced later this month.
The all-district team is comprised of all NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA student-athletes from Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Minnesota and is voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
A biology major with a biomedical science concentration and chemistry minor, Peterson maintains a 3.95 grade point average. He is a three-time member of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Scholastic Honor Roll and has been recognized on UW-L’s Dean’s List every semester. Peterson, a member of UW-L's Winner's Council, received the WIAC Max Sparger Scholar-Athlete Award for indoor and outdoor track and field this year.
He earned three career NCAA Division III All-America honors in the 400-meter hurdles, placing fourth in 2007, fifth in 2006 and eighth in 2005. Peterson was a member of UW-L's second-place distance medley relay at the 2007 NCAA III Indoor Championships. He was the WIAC champion in the 400-meter hurdles and a member of the first-place 4x400-meter relay at the 2007 outdoor championships.
Vincent is an accounting major with a 3.83 grade point average while competing for the Eagles' cross country and track & field squads. He placed 19th at the 2008 WIAC Cross Country Championships, earning honorable mention all-conference honors. Vincent, a member of the 2008 United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team, finished 37th at the NCAA III Midwest Region and 101st at the NCAA Division III Championships in 2008.
On the track, Vincent was ninth in the 1,500-meter run and also competed in the 5,000-meter run at this year's outdoor national championships. He earned a pair of All-America honors at the 2009 NCAA III Indoor Championships, finishing second in the 5,000-meter run and as a member of UW-L's second-place distance medley relay. Vincent was second in the 1,500-meter run at the 2009 WIAC Outdoor Championships and placed fourth in the mile run at this year's indoor league meet. He was also on the Eagles' second-place distance medley relay at the 2009 WIAC Indoor meet.
