UW-L Hosts NCAA Qualifier at New Sports Complex

La Crosse, Wis. – The UW-La Crosse men’s track & field squad hosted an NCAA Qualifier Thursday night in the first event held at the newly constructed Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. No team scores were kept.
The Eagles’ Dallas Vincent and Paul Zdroik both automatically qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in the 1,500-meter run Thursday. Vincent placed second overall (3:49.17) while Zdroik was fourth (3:50.53).
Bobby Riley automatically qualified in the discus throw after a second-place finish (169-5) while Luke Crowley provisionally qualified with a fifth-place finish (161-10).
Paul Yerhot and Brad Peterson both provisional qualified in their events Thursday night with second-place finishes. Yerhot was second in the 400-meter dash (48.40) while Peterson placed second in the 400-meter hurdles (53.48).
UW-L's 4x400-meter relay provisionally qualified with a winning time of 3:13.61.
Andy Novak met provisional qualifying marks with a sixth-place finish in the shot put (50-9 1/4) while Bill Warren was seventh (49-8 1/4).
UW-L had three of the top-five finishers in the 100-meter dash as Zach Lee placed third (10.96), Matt Gordy fourth (10.97) and Alex Rooker fifth (10.99). Lee was also seventh in the 200-meter dash (22.37) while Pat Bryan placed seventh in the 110-meter hurdles (15.55).
Logan O’Grady was sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:34.33) while teammate Broc Vike finished eighth (9:57.84).
Dave Stauder was fifth (6-4 3/4) and Al Chery eighth (6-4 3/4) in the high jump while Jeremiah Burish and Jason Prochnow tied for fifth in the pole vault (15-1).
