UW-L Completes Action at Three Meets

La Crosse, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse men's track & field team saw action in three meets this weekend. No team scores were kept at any of the meets.
At the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, Bobby Riley placed third in the discus throw (176-2) and 10th in the shot put (55-8 1/2). The Eagles' 4x100-meter relay of Zach Lee, Alex Rooker, Paul Yerhot and Matt Gordy finished fourth (41.83) while the 4x400-meter relay of Rooker, Brad Peterson, Ryan Mendez and Yerhot was seventh (3:19.77).
At the Gina Relays in Hillsdale, Michigan, Paul Zdroik was second (9:05.70) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase invite while Zach Wilhelmy was 12th (9:30.03). In the 3,000-meter steeplechase Logan O'Grady placed third (9:48.92).
In the 10,000-meter run invite, Dallas Vincent finished fourth (30:47.04) and Connor Lonning placed 17th (31:37.68).
At the Kip Janvrin Simpson Open in Indianola, Iowa, the Eagles' David Stauder, Jeremiah Burish and Riley all captured individual titles. Stauder took the high jump (6-7 1/2), Burish the pole vault (14-11) and Riley the discus throws (165-7).
Al Chery and Clark Lundquist tied for fourth in the high jump (6-3 1/2) at Simpson while Jason Prochnow and Erik Moser tied for fifth in the pole vault (14-5 1/4). UW-L's Luke Crowley finished fifth (149-8) and Bill Warren sixth (147-2) in the discus. Andy Novak finished third (51-1 1/2) and Crowley seventh (47-6 1/2) in the shot put while Warren was 10th in the hammer throw (145-11).
On the track at Simpson, David Sikorski was third in the 100-meter dash (11.09) while Broc Vike finished sixth (10:05.29) and Ben Plankis 10th (10:16.69) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. UW-L also finished fifth in the 4x100-meter relay (44.00).
UW-L returns to action Friday, May 1 at the WIAC Outdoor Championships at UW-Oshkosh.
