Distance Medley Relay Earns Honor

Madison, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse distance medley relay team has been selected the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Men's Track Athletes of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

The relay of sophomore Ryan Mendez of Black River Falls (H.S.), junior Dallas Vincent of Oakfield (Mayville), freshman Zach Wilhelmy of La Crosse (Aquinas) and freshman Mitch Wilson of La Crosse (Central) won the distance medley relay at the Eastbay/UW-Stevens Point Invitational Feb. 21. The quartet won with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 10:00.73.

The time currently ranks as third-fastest in the country this season.

UW-L returns to action Saturday, Feb. 28 at the WIAC Indoor Championships at UW-Stout.
