UW-L Competes at Pointer Last Chance Qualifier

Stevens Point, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse men's track & field team competed at the Pointer Last Chance Qualifer Saturday at UW-Stevens Point. No team scores were kept.

The Eagles' David Sikorski won the 55-meter dash (6.44) and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships. UW-L's 4x400-meter relay improved its provisional qualifying time with a fourth-place finish Saturday (3:18.93).

In the field events, Bobby Riley captured the shot put (54-10 3/4), but had already automatically qualified for the national championships (57-0 1/4). Bill Warren tied for third in the shot put Saturday and improved his provisional qualifying mark (51-9).

Other top finishes on the track included Mitch Wilson placing sixth (1:57.31) and McCauley Kraker seventh (1:57.36) in the 800-meter run.

Nick Stone tied for third (6-4 1/4) in the high jump for the Eagles while Jeremiah Burish tied for fifth in the pole vault (14-11). Jason Prochow tied for ninth (14-5 1/4) and Erik Moser tied for 11th (13-11 1/4) in the pole vault.

Luke Crowley finished ninth (53-9) and Aaron Johnson tied for 11th (51-1) in the weight throw.

UW-L returns to action Friday, March 13 at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in Terre Haute, Ind.
