Hunter Named WIAC Athlete of the Week for Second Time this Season

Madison, Wis. – UW-La Crosse senior forward Mackenzie Hunter of Eau Claire (Regis) has been selected the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Player of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
It is the second time this season Hunter has been named the conference player of the week. She earned the honor November 25 after being named the MVP of the Wildwood Lodge Tip-Off Tournament at Concordia University, St. Paul (Minn.).
Hunter earned this week's player of the week award after finishing with a game-high 22 points in UW-La Crosse's 72-66 victory at Luther College (Iowa) December 19. She was 8-of-15 from the field and six-of-seven at the free throw line. Hunter also had three rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocked shots.
She moved into sixth-place on the school’s all-time scoring with 1,185 points.
UW-L returns to action Monday, December 29 against Presentation College (S.D.) at 5 p.m. at the Wartburg College (Iowa) Holiday Classic.
