UW-L Picks Up Ninth Conference Win of Season

La Crosse, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women’s basketball team earned an 68-38 victory over UW-Oshkosh Saturday night in Mitchell Hall. It is the Eagles' 12th win in the last 14 games as they improve to 17-5 overall and 9-4 in the WIAC. The Titans fall to 6-16 overall and 1-12 in the conference.

UW-L, which recorded its sixth straight win over UW-Oshkosh, never trailed in Saturday's contest. The Eagles raced out to a 20-2 lead hitting 10 of their first 13 shots from the field. UW-L led by as many as 25 points in the first half at 38-13 with 1:49 remaining.

UW-Oshkosh could get no closer than 21 points in the second half and UW-L led by as many as 31.

Lindsay Wahl led UW-L with 13 points and five rebounds, finishing four-of-six from the field and five-of-six at the free throw line. Amanda Waldvogel had 12 points and Mackenzie Hunter finished with 10 points and five rebounds. Hunter also became UW-L's career leader in steals with 215, breaking the record of 214 held by Amanda Cushman.

The Eagles, playing in their final regular season home game, shot 56.0% from the field, including 62.1% (18-of-29) in the first half. The team was two-of-seven (28.6%) from three-point range and 10-of-16 (62.5%) at the line for the game.

Erin Baganz led UW-Oshkosh with eight points while Kelsey Myklebust added six points and five rebounds. Shelby Churchill also had five rebounds to go along with five points. The Titans shot 30.0% from the field, including 23.1% (three-of-13) from three-point range. The team was five-of-eight (62.5%) at the line and finished the contest with 29 turnovers, including 21 in the first half.

UW-L returns to action Wednesday, Feb. 11 at UW-River Falls at 7 p.m.
