UW-L Defeats Presentation College in Holiday Classic

Waverly, Iowa – The UW-La Crosse women's basketball team improved to 7-3 on the season with an 75-53 victory over Presentation College (S.D.) Monday night in the Wartburg College AmericInn Holiday Classic. Presentation falls to 2-8 on the year.
The Saints took a 2-0 lead on Sara Gregersen's jumper, but the Eagles went on a 26-5 run to lead by 19 points with 10:21 remaining in the first half. UW-L's Lindsay Wahl scored eight points in the run while Mackenzie Hunter had six. Presentation cut the lead to 13 later in the half, but UW-L finished the half on a 11-1 run to lead 45-22 at intermission.
Presentation could get no closer than 18 points in the second half at 69-51 with 2:56 left.
Hunter led UW-L with 17 points while Wahl had 12 points and seven rebounds. Melissa Lang added six points and a team-high eight rebounds. Dana Churchill, Lindsey Litrenta and Hanna Lang each finished with six points.
UW-L shot 53.7% from the field, including 69.2% (18-of-26) in the first half. The Eagles shot 25.0% (one-of-four) from three-point range in the contest. The team finished 16-of-19 (84.2%) at the free throw line.
Gregersen led Presentation with 21 points. The Saints shot 34.5% from the field, including 18.8% (three-of-16) from three-point range. The team was 10-of-15 (66.7%) at the line.
UW-L returns to action Tuesday, December 30 facing Wartburg College at 3 p.m.
