Stats Wins Title at Lake Wissota Invite

Chippewa Falls, Wis. - Megan Stats captured the individual title at the Lake Wissota Invitational Friday night at Lake Wissota State Park as the UW-La Crosse women's cross country team placed second overall. 

Stats won the crown with a time of 19:43 on the 5,000-meter course. A total of 58 runners competed.

The Eagles had 33 team points while UW-Eau Claire took the team title with 32 points. The University of St. Thomas (Minn.) was third (70 points) and UW-Stout fourth (100).

UW-L had four other runners place in the top-10 Friday, including Kelsey Heinz who finished fifth (20:09), Corrina Jones eighth (20:21), Kristin Lillie ninth (20:26) and Amanda Battermann 10th (20:27).

Other finishers for the Eagles included Leigh-Ann DesRoches 16th (20:38), Stephanie Woods 17th (20:39), Emily Keepman 18th (20:41), Whitney Nefstead 22nd (20:49), Katie Vargo 23rd (20:54), Amanda Dietzen 24th (20:57), Katie Duggleby 31st (21:23), Erica Bartz 34th (21:36), Abby Gustafson 35th (22:02), Faith Brisbois 37th (22:09), Megan Foss 46th (22:49), Sara Avery 47th (22:51), Macy Olson 48th (22:55), Kelly Tomlinson 50th (23:02) and Tia Anderson 56th (24:31).
