UW-L Wins UW-Whitewater Invite; Six Runners Place in Top-10

Whitewater, Wis. – The UW-La Crosse women's cross country squad captured the UW-Whitewater Invitational Saturday afternoon. The Eagles finished with 24 team points while UW-Platteville was second with 51 and UW-Whitewater third with 92. Carroll University, Wis. placed fourth (108 points) followed by UW-Oshkosh (136), UW-Stevens Point (178), Ripon College, Wis. (180), Wisconsin Lutheran College (216), Milwaukee School of Engineering, Wis. (274) and Finlandia University, Mich. (296).

UW-L had six runners place in the top-10 Saturday. The Eagles' Stephanie Perleberg, the reigning Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Runner of the Week, led the team with a second-place finish as she ran the 6,000-meter course in 22:32. UW-L's Katelynn Williams finished third (23:12) while Alison Kolinski was fifth (23:42), Karyn Genrich seventh (24:01), Rachel Boldt ninth (24:15) and Zoe Browne (24:19).

The Eagles' Kayla La Porte finished 12th (24:21) overall while Ellen Kumm was 14th (24:23), Megan Stats 15th (24:24), Kriston Siemianowski 18th (24:31) and Lauren Klesmith 20th (24:33).

Other finishers in the top-30 included Meghan Dugan 24th (24:50), Courtney Rucker 26th (24:55); Kristin Lillie 28th (25:02) and Mary Olson 30th (25:05).
