UW-L Wins Dual at Winona State; Hooper and Howard Each Capture Two Events

Winona, Minn. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics team earned a 185.775 to 182.850 dual victory at Winona State University Tuesday night in McCown Gymnasium.

The Eagles' Gabi Hooper and Mackenzie Howard each won a pair of events Tuesday night. Hooper captured the vault (9.600) and floor exercise (9.625). Howard tied for first on the uneven parallel bars (9.200) and tied for first with teammate Kelsey Matula on the balance beam (9.475).

Hooper also finished fourth on the balance beam (9.375) while Howard was sixth on the floor exercise (9.350) and Matula sixth on the uneven parallel bars (9.050).

Other top finishers for UW-L included Erin Sommer placing fourth on the uneven parallel bars (9.125) and floor exercise (9.475). The Eagles' Courtney Gonzales was third on the floor exercise (9.525) while Jackie LaFleur finished fourth on the vault (9.500).

UW-L's Jenna Swails was fifth on the vault (9.375), Chelsy Luck tied for sixth on the uneven parallel bars (9.050) and Hailey Sommer was sixth on the balance beam (9.150).
