Matula Wins All-Around; UW-L Defeats Gustavus Adolphus

St. Peter, Minn. – The UW- La Crosse gymnastics squad earned an 179.850-174.450 dual victory at Gustavus Adolphus College Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles’ Kelsey Matula took the all-around crown (35.900) and tied for first on the floor exercise (9.175) with teammate Gabi Hooper. Matula was also fifth on the uneven parallel bars (8.875) and tied for fifth on the balance beam (8.800). Along with tying for first on the floor, Hooper won the vault Saturday (9.650).

UW-L's Courtney Gonzales captured the balance beam (9.325) while tying for third on the floor exercise (9.100).

Jackie LaFleur was third in the all-around (35.725) while also placing second on the vault (9.375) and balance beam (9.025). She also finished fifth on the floor (9.025).

Jenna Swails was third on the vault (9.325) while Kahlynn Hunt tied for fifth (9.175). The Eagles’ Mackenzie Howard placed second (9.175) and Grace McCauley was fourth (8.900) on the uneven parallel bars

The Eagles’ Erin Sommer tied for fifth on the beam (8.800).
