UW-L Falls to UW-Whitewater in Dual; Matula Captures All-Around

La Crosse, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics team fell 183.775-183.250 to UW-Whitewater Friday night in dual action in Mitchell Hall.

The Eagles' Kelsey Matula captured the all-around Friday night with a score of 37.075. She also won the uneven parallel bars (9.175) while finishing fourth on the balance beam (9.450) and floor exercise (9.450).

UW-L's Jackie LaFleur was fifth in the all-around (36.275) while Mackenzie Howard placed sixth (33.850). LaFleur was second in the vault (9.600), tied for third on the uneven parallel bars (8.975) and sixth on the floor exercise (9.275).

Gabi Hooper and Courtney Gonzales earned individual titles as Hooper claimed the vault (9.675) and Gonzales the floor exercise (9.650). Hooper was also third on the floor exercise (9.500) while Gonzales finished seventh on the vault (9.350).

The Eagles' Erin Sommer recorded three top-eight finishes, including second on the floor exercise (9.575) and third on the balance beam (9.500). She was eighth on the uneven parallel bars (8.550).

Other top finishes included Rachel Budelier tied for seventh on the balance beam (9.150) and Chelsy Luck seventh on the uneven parallel bars (8.775).
