UW-L Drops Conference Match at UW-Eau Claire

Eau Claire, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse soccer team fell 2-0 at UW-Eau Claire Saturday afternoon in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) match. The Eagles drop to 2-7-1 overall and 1-4 in the WIAC while the Blugolds are now 8-2-1 overall and 5-0 in the conference.
Shyla Gilberston scored both goals of the match in the first half for UW-Eau Claire. She made it 1-0 at 4:31 with an assist coming from Sam Krueger. Gilbertson then tallied her second goal of the match and ninth of the season at 23:50 assisted by Jamie Schiesel.
The Blugolds outshot the Eagles, 19-5, including 10-2 on shots on goal.
UW-L's Sagan Pizzingrilli recorded eight saves.
UW-L returns to action Tuesday, Oct. 6 at Wartburg College (Iowa) at 4 p.m.
