Wilson Scores Twice as Eagles Earn Shutout Victory

La Crosse, Wis. – The UW-La Crosse soccer squad scored five first half goals in a 5-0 victory over Northwestern College (Minn.) Tuesday afternoon at Fields for Kids. The Eagles improve to 6-4-2 on the season while Northwestern drops to 6-5.
This was the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
Michaela Kocon got the scoring started at 1:12 as she notched her third goal of the season. Ramsey Weyenberg recorded the assist. Erin Wilson then scored her first of two goals of the match at 7:43 with an assist from Sara McClellan. Weyenberg made it 3-0 with an assist by Aimee Schneider at 13:38. It was Weyenberg's third goal of the season.
Wilson scored her second goal of the match and third of the year at 24:18 with McClellan and Heidi Hager getting the assists. Chelsea Hall notched her fourth goal of the season at 29:23 to finish the scoring with an assist from Megan Knutson.
UW-L outshot Northwestern, 50-2, including 24-1 on shots on goal. Northwestern's Rhonda Morgan recorded 19 saves while UW-L's Amanda Clark and Sagan Pizzingrilli combined on the shutout. Clark had one save.
UW-L returns to action Saturday, October 11 at UW-Whitewater at 3 p.m.
