UW-L Drops Conference Match to UW-River Falls

La Crosse, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to UW-River Falls Saturday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. The Eagles fall to 2-5-1 overall and 1-3 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while the Falcons improve to 5-3-1 overall and 2-2 in the conference.
UW-L took a 1-0 lead at 25:17 as Lindsay Wilde scored her fourth goal of the season with an assist from Heidi Hager.
UW-River Falls tallied three goals in the second half. Carlin Bunting scored her third goal of the year at 71:35 with an assist from Heidi Yanzer to force a 1-1 tie. Janae Baron gave the Falcons a 2-1 lead at 73:21 scoring unassisted for a 2-1 lead and Kayla Scott made it 3-1 at 77:34 with another unassisted goal.
The Falcons outshot the Eagles, 23-13, including 11-6 on shots on goal.
Rachel Thompson recorded five saves for UW-River Falls while Sagan Pizzingrilli had seven and Emily Wick one for UW-L.
UW-L returns to action Wednesday, Sept. 30 at Loras College (Iowa) at 7 p.m.
