UW-L Falls at UW-Stevens Point

Stevens Point, Wis. – The UW-La Crosse soccer squad fell 7-0 at UW-Stevens Point Wednesday afternoon in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) match-up. The Eagles fall to 5-4-1 overall and 2-2 in the WIAC while the Pointers improve to 8-2 overall and 3-0 in the league.

Amanda Prawat and Kaylee Weise each scored three goals for UW-Stevens Point. Prawat opened the scoring at 11:30 with an assist from Emily Walsh. The Pointers led 1-0 at halftime.

Prawat scored at 49:40 with assists from Jackie Spees and Weise to make it 2-0 and Weise scored her first goal of the match at 50:50 with assists from Spees and Vicki Bieschke to give UW-Stevens Point a 3-0 lead.

The Pointers scored a couple of unassisted goals to make it 5-0 as Weise scored at 64:15 and Prawat at 79:30. Jennisa Koch gave UW-Stevens Point a 6-0 lead at 87:50 with an assist from Weise, who later finished the scoring at 88:42 on a penalty kick.

UW-Stevens Point outshot UW-L, 37-7, including 24-2 in the second half. Amanda Clark recorded 16 saves for UW-L while Pam Luckow registered two for UW-Stevens Point.

UW-L returns to action Saturday, October 4 at UW-Stout at 4 p.m.
