UW-Whitewater Earns Win over UW-La Crosse

La Crosse, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse soccer team concluded its Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) season with a 3-0 loss to UW-Whitewater Saturday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. The Eagles fall 3-10-1 overall and 2-6 in the WIAC while the Warhawks improve to 8-6-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the conference.
Emily Gerber scored a pair of first half goals for UW-Whitewater for a 2-0 halftime lead. She scored at 5:22 with an assist from Kayla Miller to make it 1-0 and then again at 6:15 with Becky Cera recording the assist. Gerber now has 19 goals on the year.
Miller tallied her first goal of the season at 69:32 with assists from Sara Brown and Cera.
UW-Whitewater outshot UW-L, 22-7, including 11-2 on shots on goal.
The Warhawks' Samantha Neely recorded two saves while the Eagles' Sagan Pizzingrilli had seven. UW-L also had one team save.
UW-L returns to action Wednesday, Oct. 21 hosting Grinnell College (Iowa) at 4 p.m. in the Eagles' regular-season home finale.
