Softball Tryout Information Released

For Immediate Release: Thursday, August 14, 2008

La Crosse, Wis. – The UW-La Crosse softball team tryouts for the 2008-2009 school year is as follows:

*  In order to participate in tryouts, each student-athlete MUST properly complete and submit all required athletic training forms to the Athletic Training Room (Mitchell Hall basement) prior to the September 4 meeting.  Forms can be mailed to the Head Athletic Trainer as outlined in the instructions or brought to the Athletic Training Room before September 4.  Instructions and forms can be found at the following link: http://www.uwlax.edu/athletictraining/athletes.htm    

**  On testing day, come dressed to play softball with glove, cleats, filled water bottle, and catcher’s gear (if applicable), and be prepared to:

• Sprint from Home to First (all)
• Sprint from Home to Home (all)
• Field and Throw from Right Field to Third (all)
• Field and Throw from Shortstop to First (all)
• Pop Time from Home to Second (in gear, catchers only)
• Pitch from 43 feet (pitchers only)

***  Please email your academic schedule to Coach Helixon no later than Wednesday, August 20, so tryout times can be determined.  If you foresee a potential change to the schedule you submit, please mention the potential change in your email.
