UW-L Wins Dual at UW-Whitewater; Finish Undefeated in WIAC

Whitewater, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team wrapped up its dual season with a 181-57 victory at UW-Whitewater Saturday afternoon. The Eagles finish 4-0 in WIAC duals.

UW-L's Lauren Kaiser and Danielle Gray both took two individual titles Saturday. Kaiser won the 50 (25.26) and 100 (54.89) freestyle while Gray captured the 100 butterfly (59.43) and 200 I.M. (2:14.15).

The Eagles' Danielle Ellingson, Chelsea Hoff, Colleen Tierney and Emily Schweitz also won individual swimming events. Ellingson took first in the 1,000 freestyle (11:13.36), Hoff the 200 freestyle (2:00.10), Tierney the 100 backstroke (1:06.31) and Schweitz the 100 breaststroke (1:08.98).

UW-L also swept the diving competition as Samantha Koch took the 1-meter (215.80 points) and Rachael LaValley the 3-meter (237.00). Koch was also second in the 3-meter (220.90) while LaValley placed second in the 1-meter (209.95). The Eagles' Shannon Doyle was third in the 1-meter (206.30) and 3-meter (207.30).

In the relay events, UW-L's 200 medley of Hoff, Melissa Klotz, Casey Madden and Brianna Peyer finished first (1:51.27) while Hoff, Katelyn Hartung, Ellingson and Clare Hathaway won the 200 freestyle (1:38.51).

Other top finishers included Maria Krisch second in the 1,000 freestyle (11:29.05) and Hathaway second in the 50 freestyle (25.42). Talavera was second (2:02.81) and Jennifer Bryson third (2:04.78) in the 200 freestyle while Peyer was second in the 100 freestyle (55.44) and Jennifer Kolmos second in the 500 freestyle (5:35.53).

Hartung placed second in the 100 butterfly (1:01.29), Elizabeth Hausauer was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.50) and Caitlyn Joyce third in the 100 backstroke (1:07.54).
