UW-L Earns Victory at Beloit

Beloit, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse women's tennis team improved to 4-1 on the season with a 9-0 dual victory at Beloit College (Wis.) Friday afternoon. The Buccaneers fall to 2-2 on the year.

The Eagles did not lose a set in Friday's match. Kelly Kuether defeated Hannah Perwin at No. 1 singles (6-3, 6-3) while Kelly Stadum beat Erika Zevin at No. 2 (6-0, 6-4) and Carlie Bohrman defeated Julia Win at No. 3 (6-1, 6-0).

At No. 4 singles, Katie McDonald earned the win over Emeline Beck (6-1, 6-1), Jenny Maruyama defeated Ashley Miglin at No. 5 (6-1, 6-0) and Mara Weiner beat Lucia Peralta at No. 6 (6-1, 6-0). Weiner was named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Singles Player of the Week earlier this week. She is now 5-0 on the season.

In doubles, Kuether/Stadum defeated Perwin/Zevin at No. 1 (8-0); Bohrman/Sarah Schoenwaelder beat Taylor Jones/Beck at No. 2 (8-1) and Megan Fallon/Andrea Vivian earned the win over Win/Miglin at No. 3 (8-1).
