UW-L Earns Fourth Conference Win of Season

La Crosse, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse women's tennis squad improved to 9-2 overall and 4-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) with a 8-1 victory over UW-Stout Thursday afternoon at Veterans Courts. The Blue Devils fall to 3-6 overall and 1-4 in the conference.

The Eagles took five of six singles matches. Carlie Bohrman defeated Amanda O'Keefe at No. 2 (6-2, 6-0) singles while Katie McDonald defeated Jodie Czech at No. 3 (6-3, 6-7, 10-8).

UW-L's Jenny Maruyama beat UW-Stout's Kiersten Thomsen at No. 4 singles (6-4, 7-5), Sarah Schoenwaelder defeated Lindsey Luberda at No. 5 (6-2, 6-3) and Megan Fallon earned a win over Emily Jubert at No. 6 (6-2, 6-1). The Blue Devils' Allie Hinman defeated the Eagles' Kelly Kuether at No. 1 singles (6-3, 6-2).

The Eagles swept the three doubles matches. Bohrman/Schoenwaelder defeated Hinman/O'Keefe at No. 1 (8-5); Maruyama/Debbie Braun defeated Czech/Thomsen at No. 2 (9-7) and Fallon/Kuether defeated Jubert/Luberda at No. 3 (8-1).

UW-L returns to action Saturday, October 18 hosting UW-Eau Claire at 11 a.m.
