UW-L Ties for 18th at NCAA III Championships

Oshkosh, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women’s track & field team finished in a tie for 18th-place at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships Saturday at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium. The Eagles recorded 16.0 team points.
UW-River Falls and Illinois Wesleyan University shared the women’s national championship with 35.0 points. Wartburg College (Iowa) was third with 34.0 followed by Keene State College (N.H.) fourth with 29.0 and Roanoke College (Va.) fifth with 27.0.
McMurry University (Texas) placed sixth (25.0) while UW-Platteville and UW-Oshkosh tied for seventh (24.0). The University of Redlands (Calif.) finished ninth (23.0) with Texas Lutheran University, Messiah College (Pa.) and the University of Chicago (Ill.) tying for 10 th (21.0). A total of 80 teams scored points.
UW-L’s 4x100 and 4x400-meter relays both earned All-America honors Saturday afternoon. The Eagles’ 4x100-meter relay of Sarah Duchow, Ashton May, Katie Steingraeber and Caitlin Schetter was sixth with a season-best time of 47.22.
The 4x400-meter relay of Caitlin Perra, Ashley Pershing, Duchow and Danica Schaefer was eighth with a season-best time of 3:48.93.
Schetter also earned individual All-America accolades Saturday, placing eighth in the triple jump with a mark of 38-3 ¼.
Christy Bohl threw 43-8 in Saturday’s shot put preliminaries.
