Schetter Named Runner-Up for College Female Athlete of the Year

Madison, Wis. – UW-La Crosse senior Caitlin Schetter of Kiel (H.S.) has been named the runner-up for the 2008 College Female Athlete of the Year by Inside Wisconsin Sports magazine its February, 2009 edition. Traci Edwards, a member of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee basketball team, was selected the College Female Athlete of the Year.

Schetter was named the 2008 NCAA Division III Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Year and 2008 NCAA Division III Women’s Midwest Region Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (STFCCCA). During the indoor season, she won the national title in the long jump and claimed the conference crown in the triple jump enroute to earning WIAC Field Performer of the Meet accolades.

In outdoor competition, Schetter was a three-time All-American. She finished second in the long jump, eighth in the triple jump and was a member of the sixth-place 4x100-meter relay squad.
