Schetter Named WIAC Track Athlete of the Week

Madison, Wis. – UW-La Crosse senior Caitlin Schetter of Kiel (H.S.) has been selected the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women's Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

It is the second honor of the season for Schetter, who was named the WIAC Field Athlete of the Week Jan. 20 after winning the long (18-7 1/4) and triple (37-3) jumps at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Open Jan. 16.

She was named the WIAC Track Athlete of the Week after a second-place finish in the 55-meter dash (7.32) and as a member of UW-L's winning 4x200-meter relay (1:45.48) at the UW-Stout Open Jan. 24. Schetter provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in the 55-meter dash with a preliminary time of 7.23.

UW-L returns to action Saturday, Jan. 31 at the UW-Stout Invite and Minnesota State, Mankato Open. Action begins at 11 a.m. at both meets.
