UW-L Competes at Wisconsin Twilight; Three Individuals Earn Third-Place Finishes

Madison, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse women's track & field team competed at the University of Wisconsin Twilight Open Saturday at Dan McClimon Memorial Track/Soccer Complex. No team scores were kept.
The Eagles' Megan Johnson, Katie Fondow and Christy Bohl recorded third-place finishes. Johnson was third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase while Fondow finished third in the long jump (18-5 3/4) and Bohl was third in the shot put (43-3 1/4). Fondow and Bohl both provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships with their marks.
UW-L's 4x400-meter relay also provisionally qualified with a time of 3:55.13.
Michelle Horn placed sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:29.54) while Ashton May was fourth (18-1 3/4) and Jamie Scott eighth (16-6 1/2) in the long jump. Jessica Ramel finished seventh in the shot put (38-0 1/4) for UW-L. May provisionally qualified for the national meet in the long jump.
Katlin Genthe finished fourth in the pole vault (12-2 3/4) and teammate Scott was ninth (10-9). Genthe provisionally qualified for the NCAA III Championships.
Other top finishes Saturday included Maggie May placing fifth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:05.27), Amy Jo Garringer sixth in the high jump (4-11 1/2) and Stephanie Perleberg ninth in the 1,500-meter run (4:46.26).

UW-L returns to action Thursday, May 14 hosting an NCAA Qualifier Meet at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. Field events begin at 3 p.m. and track events at 6 p.m.
