UW-L Drops Three Matches at Washington University

St. Louis, Mo. – The UW-La Crosse volleyball team went 0-3 at the Washington University (Mo.) Invitational Oct. 9-10. The Eagles are now 4-17 on the season.

UW-L fell 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-23, 25-18) to Central College (Iowa) and 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-17) to Elmhurst College (Ill.) Oct. 9. The Eagles then dropped a 3-0 (25-12, 25-17, 25-17) match to fifth-ranked Washington University (Mo.) Oct. 10.

Brianne Stankus led UW-L with 13 kills against Central while Katie Gunderson added 12. Liz Schlobohm recorded 38 assists as the Eagles hit .165. Melannie Tate had 23 digs while Stankus finished with 12.

UW-L had 6.0 team blocks.

Against Elmhurst, Stankus had a team-high 10 kills while Schlobohm recorded 18 assists. UW-L hit .011 as a team. Tate finished with 15 digs and Stankus recorded a double-double with 10 digs.

Versus fifth-ranked Washington, Stankus had 10 kills and Schlobohm 16 assists. The Eagles hit .013. Tate led UW-L with nine digs while Stankus, Schlobohm, Melany Vanden Langenberg and Jennifer Stutz had five each.

UW-L returns to action Wednesday, Oct. 14 at UW-Platteville at 7 p.m.
