I.
Chair Wirkus called the meeting to order at 3:00 PM.
II.
Minutes from February Full Council meeting approved.
III.
Chancellor Hastad participated in a question-answer discussion with the
Council and guests. Transcript is
available on the Academic Staff Council web page. Council presents Chancellor
Hastad with Inaugural gift.
IV.
Joe Heim was unavailable to attend the Full Council Meeting to discuss
the Legislative Update, but is willing to attend later meetings.
Chair Wirkus shared Joe Heim’s information regarding contacting
legislators.
V.
Chair Wirkus will email a reminder to academic staff for election
ballots.
VI.
Council members selected committees to convene.
All academic staff will be contacted via email to solicit volunteers for
committees. The Executive Committee
will meet and assign volunteers to committees, and that list will be brought to
the Council for approval on the last Tuesday in April.
VII.
Letters of congratulations or no funding have been sent to individuals
who applied for professional development grants.
Send the list of recipients to the Campus Connection, and also to the
members of the Council.
VIII.
The appropriate committee will go over the excellence awards on Monday,
April 1, 2002.
IX.
Chair Wirkus sent a letter of support to the Chancellor regarding the All
University Committee.
X.
Council discussed the budget reduction and the ADL letter authored by
Nick Nicklaus.
XI.
Old Business
a. The Leadership Conference has been cancelled unless the travel freeze is lifted.
b.
Social Security Numbers must be removed from the list of academic staff
members which was received from HR.
