decade and more ago, pundits hailed the advent of the "paperless" era - a future in which the printed word would become obsolete. True, the electronic information highway is here. But instead of replacing print communication, the world of the web has served as simply one more tool in the information age. Print materials continue to provide the backbone of how we inform, promote and communicate.

That is certainly the case here at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

From course catalog to business card and special event poster to Alumnus magazine, the university tells its story through the media of ink and paper. It's a combination with staying power.
