Symbols or logos which individual units, departments or programs
have used in the past to identify themselves may be used on publications.
Logos/symbols should not be used as the primary focal point, however.
Do not combine these logos/symbols with the official university
logo.
The development
of new logos/symbols to identify your specific unit or area is
discouraged. Use the university-wide
logo or wordmark.
Logo and Wordmark Art
To obtain quality, camera-ready copies of the wordmark or logo
for reproduction, contact Publications, 104 or 105 Cleary Alumni
& Friends Center, 785-8575 / 8499. The office will provide
you with a "slick" of the logo or wordmark which can
be enlarged or reduced at the printing stage.
Digital copies of the logo and wordmark are available from the
Publications Office. Supply your own 3 1/2" disk and identify
by name which specific logo you want.
Do not output in two colors to a color ink jet printer. You will
not be able to match the specified maroon color and the image
will not have the sharpness and clarity that is required.
Do not use the digital version of the logo or wordmark to create
your own letterhead. You will find it difficult to duplicate the
positioning of the wordmark and other type and, unless you have
an expensive imagesetter as an output device, you will not be
able to achieve the quality required for university stationery.
