he Publications Office at UW-La Crosse is a unit within the Office of University Relations. It offers its services to all UW-La Crosse departments -- academic, support and student service areas -- that wish to communicate through print materials.

The office provides creative services and coordinates each project from consultative stage through delivery of the finished publication.

In cooperation with other units in the Office of University Relations, it coordinates publication of:

• all major catalogs and bulletins
• the student and staff directory
• the university newsletter Campus Connection
• the Alumnus magazine
• the La Crosse area resource guide
• other major components of the university's communications effort

The Publications Office also serves as a clearinghouse for publications with an off-campus audience. It ensures that consistent, quality publications reflect the image of the university.

It is legally mandated that all off-campus printing using state funding be placed by UW-L's Agency Printing Manager.

The Agency Printing Manager serves as the liaison between UW-La Crosse and the Wisconsin Department of Administration's printing section to monitor compliance with state contracts and regulations.

The Publications Office is staffed by a Director of Publications, an Agency Printing Manager/designer, and a half-time writer/designer.
