The Graduate Athletic Training Education Concentration Highlights
- The graduate concentration in Athletic Training Education can be attached to any graduate degree at UW-L (concentration eligibility criteria: BOC certified or eligible to take the exam)
- The focus of the concentration is Athletic Training Education and training future Athletic Training educators for future careers in higher education
- Unique courses designed to deliver content focusing on educational principles
- Students are given opportunities to assist with undergraduate course instruction, research and clinical supervision
- Nearly 60 years of experience among four Athletic Training faculty and staff, providing a good blend of clinical, academic, and research strengths
- Extremely high placement into work settings and/or additional graduate school programs upon graduation (e.g., doctoral programs)
- Graduate assistantships, fellowships, and nonresident tuition waivers available each year on a competitive basis
- Small class size allows for greater individualized instruction and a more meaningful educational experience
- Opportunities exist for involvement with graduate and undergraduate research projects and other scholarly pursuits (graduate research grants available on a competitive basis)
- Students work in conjunction with a nationally accredited and highly recognized undergraduate program
- Strong alumni, faculty, and staff network available to assist with job placement upon graduation
- Possible collaboration with area medical and sports medicine facilities and other allied health programs on campus (e.g., physical therapy, clinical exercise physiology, physicians assistant, occupational therapy, human performance)
- Availability of research facilities, labs, and equipment/instrumentation (e.g., human performance laboratory, musculoskeletal research laboratory, athletic training center) to pursue scholarly activities
