UW-L Falls at Nationally Ranked UW-Oshkosh

Oshkosh, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's basketball team fell 78-63 at 24th-ranked UW-Oshkosh Saturday afternoon in Kolf Sports Center. The Eagles drop to 10-12 overall and 5-8 in the WIAC while the Titans improve to 16-6 overall and 10-3 in the conference.
UW-Oshkosh never trailed in Saturday's contest, leading 10-4 with 16:22 remaining in the first half. The Eagles cut the Titans lead to three points in the first half, including at 19-16 with 11:57 left on a Derek Wilcox jumper. UW-Oshkosh then went on a 9-0 run to lead 28-16 and led 41-26 at intermission.
UW-L cut the lead to nine points two times early in the second half, including at 46-37 with 17:30 left on a Tony Mane jumper, but UW-Oshkosh scored the next five points to lead 51-37. The Titans led 54-40 with 14:26 remaining when they scored the next 10 points to lead 64-40 with 10:34 left. UW-Oshkosh led by as many as 27 points in the second half.
Mane led UW-L with 17 points, finishing six-of-13 from the field (four-of-eight from three-point range) and one-of-two at the free throw line. Mane also had five rebounds. Billy Kegler finished with 12 points while Chris Fehrenbach and Austin Scott each had 11 for the Eagles. Kegler was six-of-seven from the field and added four rebounds.
UW-L shot 46.3% from the field, including 42.1% (eight-of-19) from three-point range. The Eagles were five-of-10 (50.0%) at the line.
All five UW-Oshkosh starters scored in double figures, including Dane Seckar-Anderson and Jordan Johnson tying for the team lead with 16 points. Matt Miller added 15 points for the Titans while Greg Schrimpf finished with 14 and D.J. Marsh 12.
UW-Oshkosh shot 53.8% from the field, including 52.6% (10-of-19) from three-point range. The Titans were 12-of-15 (80.0%) at the free throw line.
