UW-L Drops Third Straight with Loss at UW-River Falls

River Falls, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's basketball team dropped its third straight game with a 73-57 loss at UW-River Falls Wednesday night. The Eagles fall to 10-13 overall and 5-9 in the WIAC while the Falcons improve to 9-13 overall and 3-10 in the conference.

UW-River Falls never trailed in Wednesday's contest, racing out to a 17-4 lead with 13:32 remaining in the first half. The Falcons led 42-19 at halftime, hitting 60.0% (15-of-25) from the field in the first 20 minutes.

UW-L could get no closer than 13 points in the second half at 68-55 with 1:57 left in the game. UW-River Falls led by as many as 29 points in the second half.

Austin Scott led UW-L with 13 points off the bench, finishing three-of-eight from three-point range. Chris Fehrenbach added 12 points and a team-high five rebounds for the Eagles.

UW-L shot 41.8% from the field, including 23.5% (four-of-17) from three-point range. The Eagles were seven-of-14 (50.0%) at the free throw line.

Scott Kelly led UW-River Falls with 24 points, hitting five-of-nine three-point attempts. He also tied for the team lead with seven rebounds. Willie Wright added 14 points for the Falcons.

UW-River Falls shot 56.5% from the field, including 44.4% (eight-of-18) from three-point range. The Falcons were 13-of-20 (65.0%) at the line.

UW-L returns to action Saturday, February 16 hosting UW-Stout in the Eagles' regular-season home finale at 5 p.m. on Senior Day.
