UW-L Places Tenth at Wisconsin Invite; Wilhelmy Finishes 21st Overall

Madison, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's cross country team finished 10th at the University of Wisconsin adidas Invitational Saturday afternoon at the Thomas Zimmer Cross Country Course.

The Eagles, second in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III rankings, placed 10th with 237 points. Syracuse University won the team title with 41 points with Georgetown University second with 60 and Wisconsin third with 94.

Arkansas placed fourth (174) followed by Iowa (176), Illinois (192), Texas A&M (207), Lamar (219), Michigan (234) and UW-La Crosse (237) to round-out the top-10. Nebraska finished 11th (256), Auburn was 12th (266) and Marquette placed 13th (326).

UW-L's Zach Wilhelmy was the team's top runner, finishing 21st overall with a time of 24:32.2 on the 8,000-meter course. Andrew Bumbalough of Georgetown won the individual title at 23:54.0.

The Eagles' Connor Lonning was 44th (24:57.7) while Paul Moran finished 59th (25:15.3).

Other finishes for UW-L included Scott Hayden 73rd (25:26.0), Sean Harrington 84th (25:39.5), Brian Shonat 100th (26:11.8), Kyle Coghlan 105th (26:24.4) and Zach McFall 106th (26:27.7).
