UW-L Places Second at WIAC Relays

La Crosse, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse men's swimming and diving team finished second at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Relays Saturday night in Mitchell Hall. The Eagles finished with 124 team points while UW-Stevens Point placed first with 158 points. UW-Whitewater was third (94) followed by UW-Eau Claire (92), UW-Oshkosh (66) and UW-River Falls (14).

UW-L won three events Saturday. The Eagles' 800-yard freestyle relay of Karl Richters, Christopher Boyle, Anthony Schmidt and Michael Kirschling were first with a time of 7:19.58. UW-L's 400-yard freestyle relay of Richters, Boyle, Lance Scadden and Tony Wolff won with a time of 3:12.58. The Eagles' 300-yard breaststroke relay also took first with a WIAC Relay record of 2:59.27.

The Eagles finished second in five races. UW-L's 400-yard medley relay of Scadden, Cole Swanson, Wolff and Michael Beilman was second (3:35.18) while the 300-yard individual medlay relay of Casey Borden, Michael Hruska and Schmidt placed second (2:51.42).

Wolff, Scadden, Micah Fulmer and Boyle were second in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:26.48) while Scadden, Swanson, Wolff and Boyle finished second in the 200-yard medley relay (1:37.21). The Eagles' 300-yard backstroke relay of Scadden, Borden and Schmidt placed second (2:43.60).
