UW-L Opens Outdoor Season at UW-Oshkosh Invite

Oshkosh, Wis. – The UW-La Crosse men’s track & field team opened its outdoor season with a second-place finish at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational Saturday afternoon at Titan Stadium. The Eagles finished with a 149.5 team points while UW-Oshkosh was first with 174.5. A total of 14 teams competed.
Jamar Jackson, Dave Stauder and Bill Warren all earned victories for UW-L. Jackson captured the 110-meter hurdles (15.48) while Stauder took the high jump (6-5 1/2) and Warren the shot put (49-4 1/2).
Other top finishers on the track for the Eagles included UW-L placing second in the 4x100 and 4x400-meter relays. Jonathon Doble, Matt Gordy, David Kolbe and Alex Rooker were second in the 4x100 (42.81) while Doble, Cole Lambert, Ryan Mendez and Dylan Randolph finished second in the 4x400 (3:19.57).
Individually, Cory Hayden placed second in the 5,000-meter run (15:00.75) while Dan Thour was third (15:03.69) and Kevin Oelstrom fifth (15:04.79). Kolbe was third in the 400-meter dash (23.20) while Doble placed third (49.22) and Randolph fifth (49.75). UW-L's Tom Isaacs finished third in the 800-meter run (2:00.20).
In the field events, Alex Tapplin was second in the pole vault (16-0 3/4) and Jessie Dengsavang second in the triple jump (45-6 1/4). The Eagles' Clark Lundquist tied for fifth in the high jump (6-1 1/2) and Aaron Johnson finished fifth in the shot put (45-2 1/2).
