UW-L Finishes Third at WIAC Championships; Williams Places Sixth Overall

Winneconne, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's cross country team finished third at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships Saturday afternoon at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne.

UW-Eau Claire captured the women's championship with 44 poins while UW-Platteville was second with 49 and UW-L third with 77. UW-Oshkosh placed fourth (121) followed by UW-Stevens Point (131), UW-River Falls (167), UW-Whitewater (193), UW-Stout (202) and UW-Superior (253).

The Eagles' Katelyn Williams earned All-WIAC First Team honors after finishing sixth overall Saturday with a time of 22:27.81 on the 6,000-meter course. Alya Mitchell of UW-Oshkosh took the individual title with a winning time of 21:26.50.

UW-L's Meghan Dugan placed 11th (22:49.64) to earn all-conference second team honors.

Jenna Gerten finished 15th (22:59.47) while Lauren Moss was 22nd (23:17.51), Kristen Howe 23rd (23:20.31), Zoe Browne 24th (23:20.68), Megan Johnson 25th (23:23.26), Emily Watson 28th (23:25.03) and Kristina Bennwitz 32nd (23:29.06).

The Eagles' Erin Farley placed 36th (23:44.64); Rachel Boldt was 40th (23:51.05) and Alison Kolinski 46th (24:05.60).

UW-L returns to action Saturday, November 10 at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne.
