UW-L Wins Gershon/McLellan; Sommer Captures All-Around

La Crosse, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics squad won the 27th Gershon/McLellan Invitational Friday night in Mitchell Hall. The Eagles, who won their ninth Gershon/McLellan title, finished with a score of 185.425. Winona State University was second (183.625) followed by UW-Oshkosh (177.800) and Hamline University (174.575).

Individually, UW-L's Erin Sommer captured the all-around title with a score of 37.225. She also won the balance beam with a Gershon/McLellan Invite record score of 9.750. Sommer was second on the floor exercise (9.400) and fourth on the vault (9.425).

The Eagles' Kasey Clausen won the uneven parallel bars (9.650) while also placing tied for third on the balance beam (9.650).

Jackie LaFleur was second in the all-around with a score of 37.200 while also finishing third on the uneven parallel bars (9.300).

UW-L's Gabi Hooper tied for second on the vault (9.525) while Schaelyn McFadden tied for fourth on the uneven parallel bars (9.275).
