UW-L Captures Hamline Triangular; Hooper Wins Vault

St. Paul, Minn. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics squad captured the Hamline University Triangular Friday night in St. Paul. The Eagles finished with a team score of 177.375 while Hamline was second with 172.825 and Gustavus Adolphus College third with 169.975.

Gabi Hooper won the vault title for UW-L with a score of 9.475. She was also 10th on the balance beam (8.675).

Teammates Jackie LaFleur placed second (9.300) and Erin Sommer third (9.100) on the vault while Schaelyn McFadden was fifth (9.050).

Sommer placed second (35.475) and LaFleur third (34.875) in the all-around for UW-L. Sommer also finished third on the floor exercise (9.125) and fourth on the balance beam (9.025) while LaFleur was eighth on the floor (8.875) and 10th on the uneven parallel bars (8.150).

The Eagles' Mackenzie Howard finished third on the beam (9.325), fifth on uneven parallel bars (8.550) and sixth on the floor exercise (8.950).

Kelsey Matula placed second on balance beam (9.325) while Kasey Clausen was eighth (8.850).

Christina Manelli was fifth on floor (9.000).
