UW-L Captures Oktoberfest Cup for Third Straight Season

La Crosse, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse soccer team captured the Wells Fargo Oktoberfest Cup for the third straight season with a 1-0 victory over city-rival Viterbo University Thursday night at Fields for Kids.

UW-L improves to 5-3 on the season with the win while Viterbo drops to 5-6.

Amy Cory scored the only goal of the match, her team-leading eighth of the season, at 20:00 with an assist from Michaela Kocon.

Viterbo finished with 16 shots while UW-L totaled 10. Amanda Clark recorded six saves for the Eagles while Portia Holtegaard had seven for the V-Hawks.

UW-L returns to action Saturday, September 29 hosting UW-Stout at 2 p.m. at Veterans' Field.
