Stankus Named to All-Tournament Team

La Crosse, Wis. - Brianne Stankus was named to the UW-La Crosse Invitational All-Tournament Team Saturday afternoon as the Eagles' volleyball team dropped a pair of matches. UW-L fell 3-1 (25-23, 25-14, 24-26, 25-16) to Cornell College (Iowa) and 3-1 (25-23, 25-22, 22-25, 25-14) to Clarke College (Iowa).
UW-L is now 6-22 on the season.
Stankus recorded 33 kills in the two matches Saturday and 55 in the four matches for the invite. She had 16 kills and 14 digs against Cornell. Amanda Hardy added 10 kills for the Eagles versus Cornell while Liz Schlobohm recorded 28 assists. UW-L hit .123 as a team.
Melannie Tate led five players in double figures in digs with 24. Schlobohm finished with 15 while Stankus and Jennifer Stutz each had 14. Katie Kaufman recorded 12.
Against Clarke, Stankus had 17 kills while Hardy and Caitlin Jahnke each had 10. Schlobohm finished with 36 assists. The Eagles hit .167 overall.
Tate and Kaufman each recorded 23 digs while Stankus had 17.
UW-L wraps up its season Saturday, Oct. 31 hosting Edgewood College (Wis.) at 1 p.m.
