Future Goals/Aspirations:
One goal that will always be important to me is to stay true to
myself. I want happiness in my character and what I am doing to
impact others. Career-wise I aspire to be a police officer and
become a strong force in the law enforcement system. My ultimate
goal is to be a part of the DEA. I am not sure how I will get
there yet, but my dream seed has been planted. Another aspect
similar to all of this is the thought of counseling survivors of
sexual and drug abuse. I always will yearn to improve my
listening skills and ability to connect with people. Sooooo yea!
Favorite Activity/Hobby:
Currently on campus I am involved in Rugby, Rainbow Unity, and
Student Senate. I love being involved in many things with all
kinds of people! Out of school I really enjoy hiking, kayaking,
and biking. Rugged outdoors are awesome! On the other hand I
appreciate writing poetry, listening to music, and reading about
serial killers and drugs. Some of my favorite bands are: The
Beatles, Nirvana, Daft Punk, Ne-Yo, Usher, Chris Brown,
Blink-182, Bon Iver, Matchbox 20, The Doors, Eminem, Frank
Sinatra, The GooGoo Dolls, Jack's Mannequin, Lady Gaga, Norah
Jones, Queen, Sublime, Three Days Grace, Weezer, and 2Pac to
name a few!
Words to Live By:
-
"Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great,
some achieve greatness, and some have greatness
thrust upon them."
-
"Put no age limit on your dreams."
-
"Live like a human, compete like an animal."
-
"Happiness is a choice that requires effort at
times."
-
"Sports do not build character. They reveal it."
Favorite ATP Memory:
One of the memories that sticks out the most for me is the time
we sat in a circle and talked about our note cards. I felt like
I had cheated the group of a part of me and I am so unbelievably
glad that I showed one of my most vulnerable times with some
amazing individuals. It was an honor to hear their stories and
feel their hearts.
When I think of Awareness through Performance, I think of...
Pure energy and pure determination. ATP has been one of the best
things that I have been involved with. Out of all the team based
activities I have been in, ATP has given me such a positive and
strong outlook on the world and the people that are a part of
it. I cannot think of anything else I would trade my time I
spend in ATP.
Involvement with ATP has had this impact on me:
Family. I always would hear people say that family was more than
blood. It had not hit me until ATP and my college years that
that phrase is more than true. I am so thankful to have the
support system that ATP provided for me in a times of need and
in times of happiness. You meet so many great individuals
through experiences like ATP and I was fortunate enough to find
a family in a busy busy world.
