A QUICK GUIDE TO CAREER SERVICES
2nd Floor of Wilder Hall, (608) 785-8514, Office hours are 8:00am-4:30pm

Career Services has found that the most effective way in reaching out to students to discuss career planning issues and techniques is through having a strong relationship with the academic departments.  Below are a few ways for us to better connect and share information.

  • Presentations:  A Career Services staff member will come to your class to speak to your students on a variety of topics.  Career Services offers collegial coverage to faculty who are unable to attend class, so please don't cancel class - call Career Services at (608) 785-8514.
  • Career AssistanceCareer Advisors are available for students to meet with to discuss any of the following topics:
      • Career options & employment trends
      • Resumes & cover letters
      • Interviewing
      • Internships
      • Post graduation employment
      • Graduate school preparation
  • Career Events & Programs:  Several major career events and programs are hosted every year by Career Services.
  • InternshipsStudents should visit Career Services early to start searching for internships.  Most spring semester internships are posted in September.  Some summer internships are posted as early as the previous fall.  Most fall semester internships are posted in March.  Students should attend an internship information session to get started on their internship search.
