Application Process


ADMISSION APPLICATION

  3. Request and send official transcripts to UW-La Crosse

1. Complete and submit online application

  • Access the UW System Electronic Application at https://apply.wisconsin.edu/.
  • Create a username and password. Keep your UW System electronic application username and password in a safe location for later use.
  • The UW System Higher Education Location Program (HELP) Office provides assistance completing the electronic application via phone at 800.442.6459, Monday through Thursday 8 a.m.–6 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

2. Remit application fee

  • The $56 graduate application fee may be paid at the time of application.

3. Request and send official transcripts to UW-La Crosse

  • Request all official undergraduate transcripts from all previous post secondary institutions attended. This includes transfer credits even if they appear on another school transcript. A majority of institutions provide students with the option to request transcripts online from the college/university Web site.
  • Send all official transcripts directly from the Registrar of each institution to:

Students with completed application: 1) electronic application, 2) application fee, and 3) all official transcripts, can expect to receive an admission decision in 6-8 weeks.

Students who discontinued their enrollment in the Physical Education Teaching or Sport Administration graduate programs and now wish to continue must submit a re-entry application for admission. The re-entry application is available at https://apply.wisconsin.edu/. Using the username and password created when the electronic application was initially completed will expedite the re-entry application process.


FINANCIAL AID/RECIPROCITY INFORMATION

  1. Students planning to apply for Financial Aid may complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application online at www.fafsa.ed.gov
  2. Additional financial aid assistance from the UW-La Crosse Financial Aid Office is available at http://www.uwlax.edu/finaid/.
  3. Minnesota Tuition Reciprocity Information
    Minnesota residents must apply for reciprocity to receive the Minnesota Tuition Reciprocity rates. The online application is available at http://www.getreadyforcollege.org/hesod/reciprocity/apply1.cfm.

UW-LA CROSSE WINGS STUDENT CENTER

1. All UW-La Crosse students have access to their WINGS Student Center to register for classes, view grades, and order transcripts. A username and password is required to access the WINGS Student Center at https://wings.uwlax.edu.

2. Students enrolled at UW-La Crosse since spring 2009 have already received a username (UW-L student ID number) and password. Individuals not enrolled at UW-La Crosse since spring 2009 will receive their WINGS Student Center username (UW-L student ID number) and password via e-mail from the Admissions Office shortly after they apply for admission. The e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address submitted on the application for admission.

3. Keep your WINGS Student Center username and password in a convenient, but secure, location as you will use this often.

4. WINGS Student Center Features for Applicants:

  • Admissions: Track the status of your application
  • To Do List: See what you need to complete as you progress through the application process
  • Personal Information: Update your information to ensure its accuracy.

5. WINGS Student Center Features for Current Students:

  • Financial Aid: Track the status of financial aid packages.
  • Academics: View grades, register for classes, view class schedules.
  • Finances: Pay student bill

REGISTRATION PROCESS

  1. A $100 non-refundable registration deposit is due before students may register. Please pay your $100 registration deposit by using the “Make a Deposit/Payment” button on your WINGS Student Center.
  2. Access your “Enrollment Date” (first day you are eligible to register) on your WINGS Student Center.
  3. Registration and WINGS Student Center help information is available at www.uwlax.edu/wings/help
  4. Any past bills must be paid before students are allowed to register for classes. Bills may be paid online using the WINGS Student Center.

CONFIRMATIONS

Registration confirmation will be sent approximately one week before the course begins.


CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations for credit courses must be submitted in writing to Continuing Education and Extension. After the course begins, refunds are prorated according to UW-L guidelines. We reserve the right to cancel courses due to low enrollment.


TEXTBOOKS

Graduate students must purchase texts and materials.


SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS

Registrants who need special accommodations are invited to provide that information at least two weeks prior to the program so that Section 504 considerations can be completed. Contact Continuing Education and Extension if you desire accommodations. Requests will be kept confidential.
