Group study of varying therapeutic recreation topics. University professors as well as visiting lecturers will be invited to address the students and conduct specialized phases of the workshops. Repeatable for credit under different subtitles. No student may earn more than six credits in REC 375, RTH 490, REC/RTH 491.
Instructor: Rachael Kaiser
Rachael is a certified child life specialist who has worked in outpatient surgery at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse since 2002. She proposed and implemented the child life position in the Outpatient Surgery Center and created the Teddy Bear Care Pre-Admission Tour Program, which provides tours to future pediatric surgical patients at Gundersen Health System. Rachael has a master’s degree in Family Studies; her breadth of knowledge and experience, combined with her positive facilitator presence in the online learning environment make this course highly sought after. This course satisfies all of the CLC requirements and a verification form will be sent to students upon completion of the course.
The tuition plateau does not apply to students enrolling in undergraduate or graduate credit courses through the Office of Continuing Education and Extension.
