Educating our children is the lifeblood of their future success. Passionate teachers work to create the most positive learning experience possible, but are confronted with many factors beyond their control. In today's classroom, students with challenging social, emotional and behavioral issues have become more commonplace. Consequently, the educator's ability to manage difficult behavior in the classroom has become ever more important.

Unlike other workshops that address specific teaching strategies, this Workshop will focus on classroom management strategies that diminish difficult behavior and enhance classroom milieu. During the Workshop, the following topics will be covered:

  • Understanding the varied causes of difficult behavior
  • Developing practical and teacher friendly interventions tailored to address these specific causes
  • Identifying communication and relationship strategies to prevent difficult behavior
  • Providing traditional theoretical frameworks, as well as other equally important psychological and developmental approaches
  • Collaborating with colleagues, parents and mental health providers will be emphasized
  • Highlighting the importance of the personality style, classroom organization and self-care

The Workshop provides ample opportunity for discussion, problem-solving and learning from other educators who are faced with similar challenges. Come join us and enhance your sills in managing difficult classroom behavior.

IMPORTANT: The content of the Workshop broadly contains information that will be helpful for educators who teach pre-school through adolescence. At different points during the Workshop, specific age groups will be highlighted and contrasted, along with specific interventions compatible with that particular age group.
